Darren Kelso Named Boys Golf Head Coach

Orange Lutheran Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of Darren Kelso as the new Boys Golf Head Coach. Kelso, a math teacher at Orange Lutheran, previously served as a varsity assistant on the Boys Golf team for four years.

"Darren brings a winning attitude with Christian character and solid leadership," says Athletics Director Paul Jones. "Darren has coached many teams on and off the OLu campus and he has been successful with each program that he has coached."

Kelso says, "I am honored to be the head golf coach and am looking forward to fulfilling the mission of Orange Lutheran through the golf program, which is to help students internalize the gospel message of salvation in Christ Jesus."

At Orange Lutheran, athletics is not only an activity, but an opportunity for ministry.

"The better our golf program continues to compete, the more people will find out about Jesus. We believe that Darren will bring that competitive edge to our boy's golf program that will enable us to accomplish this goal," Jones says.

The 2019 boys golf season kicks off in early February.
